Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How many versions does the X80GT 3 have?
A: Three versions. One White Light Version: 24 × cool white LEDs, up to 30,000 lumens and 430 meters. Two Multi-Light-Source Versions: 18 cool white (or neutral white) LEDs + 4 red LEDs + 2 UV LEDs, up to 23,000 lumens and 401 meters.
Q: What are the main differences between the White Light Version and the Multi-Light-Source Version?
A: The White Light Version focuses on maximum white-light output and uses a built-in 4×18650 battery pack. The Multi-Light-Source Version adds red and UV outputs and uses a 4×18650 battery compartment with replaceable cells for extended runtime.
Q: Besides white light, what light sources does the X80GT 3 Multi-Light-Source Version have?
A: In addition to the white main beam, it features:
- 365nm 1300mW UV – ideal for fluorescence inspection, counterfeit detection, and leak detection.
- 660nm red – great for low-light observation, preserving night vision, and signaling.
One light covers everyday illumination, UV work, and red-light applications. That’s far more capability than a standard white-light flashlight.
Q: What upgrades does the X80GT 3 offer over the X80GT 2?
A: The X80GT 3 brings a wide range of upgrades:
- Available in a 4×18650 built-in battery pack version (White Light Version) or a 4×18650 battery compartment version (Multi-Light-Source Version).
- New side light that can be turned on independently or together with the main beam.
- Patented handle that improves handling while providing heat insulation.
- Upgraded lens, now using 4 mm thickened glass for significantly improved pressure resistance.
- New magnetic mechanical lock safety feature, further enhancing safety during use.
- Added stepless dimming for smooth brightness adjustment.
Q: Why is the X80GT 3 lower in turbo brightness than the X80GT 2?
A: The X80GT 3 uses multiple high-efficiency 35*35 LEDs, which improve system efficiency, heat management, and long-term output stability. We also chose compatibility with high CRI neutral white emitters to provide more options for users, instead of going with a higher-output emitter option. The spec sheet may look more conservative, but what you actually get is better beam quality, better color, a smoother beam profile, more reliable sustained performance, and more ways to play.
Q: Why is the X80GT 3 longer than the X80GT 2?
A: The X80GT 3 (White Light Version) with the battery pack is indeed longer. It needs space for a cell-balancing fast-charging circuit and proper battery management. That extra length isn’t wasted — it pays for faster charging, better cell balance, and safer operation.
Q: Why is the advertised waterproof rating lower than the X80GT 2?
A: We didn’t reduce the waterproofing, we just describe it more conservatively. Structurally, the glass has been increased to 4 mm, so the actual water resistance is stronger than the rating suggests.
Q: What battery does it use?
A: It uses a 4×18650 battery configuration. The White Light Version uses a built-in battery pack. The Multi-Light-Source Version uses a 4×18650 battery compartment with replaceable cells, so you can carry spares and swap instantly.
Q: Why doesn’t the X80GT 3 just use a battery holder?
A: Because the X80GT 3 uses ACEBEAM custom batteries. They’re longer and have a built-in safety protection board. To keep the body as compact as possible, we replaced the previous battery holder with a battery compartment.
Q: How is it charged?
A: It has a hidden USB-C port with a durable metal cover for added protection. The White Light Version supports USB-C PD60W charging and recharges in about 1 hour.
Q: Does it support stepless dimming?
A: Yes. Stepless dimming is adjustable from 150 to 3,500 lm (White Light Version) or 100 to 3,200 lm (Multi-Light-Source Version).
Q: What driver and dimming technology does it use?
A: The white light uses non-PWM dimming and a boost constant-current driver with FCCM control for smooth, stable output.
Q: What is the side light used for?
A: The side light has CRI ≥95. It can be turned on alone to illuminate your steps or synced with the main beam for all-around brightness.
Q: What kind of glass does it use?
A: It uses 4 mm thickened anti-reflective glass for a crisp, clear, unfiltered view.
Q: What is the body made of?
A: The body is CNC-machined, anodized AL6061-T6 aluminum alloy for excellent scratch and wear resistance.
Q: Is it waterproof and drop-resistant?
A: Yes. It is IP68-rated for waterproof/dustproof protection and 1-meter drop-proof/drop-tested.
Q: What is the magnetic mechanical lock?
A: It is a three-position magnetic mechanical lock (Multi-Light-Source Version) designed for safer and more convenient operation.
Q: How can I carry or mount it?
A: You can use it handheld, with the patented detachable handle, or via the UNC 1/4″ threaded socket for tripods and other accessories.
Q: What is the patented detachable handle for?
A: It improves grip when attached and can be removed to save storage space.
Q: Can I attach accessories?
A: Yes. The UNC 1/4″ threaded socket lets you attach tripods or other compatible accessories.
